It is with great pleasure that we invite you as our guest to celebrate the new decade and to join with us at our 21st Annual Seminar, Publishing ’10.  This year, our theme will be “The Tipping Point – 2010” because it appears that having weathered the challenges of 2009, it is time to look at the seismic changes that are likely to take place.

Time and Date
March 9, 2010
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Location
The Harvard Club
35 West 44th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenue)
New York, NY.

Program

We are fortunate to have two major speakers from the industry to point us to what is likely to occur and respond to your questions.  Jan F. Constantine, General Counsel of the Author’s Guild, who has been playing an important role in fashioning the Google Settlement, will discuss the main issues of this proposed agreement and what this will mean to authors and publishers and the place of e-books in the future.

John Kilcullen, Founder/CEO of Brand Revolution and President of Long Term and Short Term Inc. will discuss “How to Handle Change.”  John Kilcullen has been dealing with and enjoying the challenges that come along with change.  He is best known for having been the founding member of IGD Books and the Chairman and driving force behind the “Dummies” series, and he also has a rich background in new technology, books and magazines.

The program will also include a look at the past year and what is anticipated this year in the fields of copyright, mergers and acquisitions, and taxes. We will ask you to fasten your seat belt as we look at “Where we are and where we are going in Book Publishing” and also Bob Halper will discuss “How the Recession Has Changed the M&A Marketplace.”  Tom Kjellberg, a leading light in Copyright, will discuss “Current Author-Publisher Issues,” and Robert Giordanella, the head of the CLL tax practice, will discuss “How to Protect Your Personal and Business Assets.”
