Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman Attorneys Attend Ali Forney Center Summer Benefit Honoring Nasty Pig Co-Founders
Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman (CLL) attorneys Joel Karni Schmidt and Dasha Chestukhin attended the Ali Forney Center’s (AFC) OASIS summer benefit honoring Nasty Pig Inc. co-founders, David Lauterstein and Frederick Kearney.
AFC is the country's largest non-profit providing housing, safety, and essential services for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Its OASIS annual summer benefit, which has been running for more than twelve years, is the largest LGBTQ+ summer cocktail party in NYC outside of Pride.
Nasty Pig, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, is a pioneering gay men’s fashionwear brand. Nasty Pig has collaborated with retailers, such as Nordstrom, which included a NASTY PIG pop-up store at Nordstrom’s men’s store in New York. The company has been mentioned in The New York Times, Forbes Magazine, and other well-known publications. James Franco, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and other celebrities have been spotted wearing NASTY PIG brand clothing. David Lauterstein, Nasty Pig's CEO, was included in Crain's New York Business' 2020 list of notable LGBTQ leaders and executives. Nasty Pig recently worked with the U.S. White House and the Biden Administration on public health initiatives impacting the LGBTQ+ community. Nasty Pig began supporting AFC in 2013.
