Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman Attorney Jaime Berman Will Speak About Name Change and Sex Designation Petitions at a New York County Lawyers Association CLE Program

Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman associate Jaime Berman will be a panelist in a New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) continuing legal education (CLE) program titled the “Nuts and Bolts of Name Change and Sex Designation Petitions.”

Panelists will discuss the New York Gender Recognition Act, and the recent state administrative order creating privacy protections when filing petitions.  Panelists will also discuss common issues affecting transgender members of the community and individuals seeking name changes due to safety concerns.  The program will conclude with a discussion of allyship, led by the co-chairs of NYCLA’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in the Law Committee.

The event will take place on March 24, 2025 at 111 Broadway, 10th Fl, New York, NY 10006.

6:00 PM – 7:40 PM – CLE program

7:40 PM – 8:15 PM – networking and more food
